This hands-on class is designed for expecting parents who want to better understand how the body, baby, and labor work together.

Instructor:

Jessie Brunot Bouldin, Sp®BCPE, is the owner of Althea Birth Care and an experienced childbirth educator, doula, lactation counselor, and student of midwifery at NMI. She has taught families through a local health system and brings years of hands-on birth experience to her classes. Through attending and observing hundreds of births, Jessie has developed a practical, physiological approach to helping families understand birth, create comfort, and support the natural process of labor. www.altheabirthcare.com


Provider Clearance:

This class includes gentle movement, positioning, and partner-supported techniques. Most people with uncomplicated pregnancies can safely participate, but please contact your midwife, OB, or healthcare provider before attending if you have been advised to limit activity, avoid exercise, or are being monitored for a pregnancy complication.

Provider clearance is recommended if you have vaginal bleeding, leaking fluid, regular or painful contractions before term, placenta previa or other placental concerns, cervical insufficiency or cerclage, risk of preterm birth, high blood pressure or preeclampsia concerns, severe pain, dizziness, chest pain, shortness of breath, decreased fetal movement, or any provider-recommended activity restriction.
